“Shortly after Wapsi made wire available in about a dozen colors way back when, I started fooling around with it quite a bit and found that wire-bodied flies ride nicely in the water column. Mysis shrimp occur in just a handful of western tailwaters which typically house picky trout, so a properly riding imitation is key! Wapsi called their wire “Ultra Wire”...Hence, the Ultra Mysis.”
